Need maintenance. Sofa bed needs replacement and the cover was so gross. We rented 5 days and my kids switch to air mattress in day 3 as the sofa bed spring hurts them. Place looks dated overall except for bathroom. Outdoor chair cushion were so worn and torn, and the other chair doesn’t even have one and the rattan has already started to fall apart. We appreciated extra towels and beach chair. Rental location is by beach access and it’s a pretty sandy non crowded beach. Shave ice and farmers market in short walk distance.

We had a fantastic stay at this location. Directly on a long, walkable beach, and within walking distance of a general store, bakery, and the best shave ice on the island.
The condo is very comfortable with great view of the ocean and the West Maui Mountains. Highly recommend this location, as it’s so easy to get anywhere from here.

Have stayed at Nani Kai Hale before, as well as Sugar Beach & Kealia. We love this area and it’s easy to walk along the beach to visit family staying in other nearby condos. The community at NKH was great, we went to a community “Happy Hour” in the rain and met lots of folks while at that, the pool, and the lawn area. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. Parking was easy, the grounds were nice and the tables, chairs, pool were all very. well-kept. The only thing I was disappointed about was that the listing implied the unit had a washer/dryer … “This amazing condo is the total package including WiFi, washer and dryer, community pool…” The amenities listing also says “washer” so we thought there would be in-unit laundry but in reality, there’s a laundry room with coin-operated machines (2 washers, 2 dryers). on each level. It was $2/load to wash, $1.75 to dry. The unit was well appointed, but I felt the important furnishings that most other units we’ve rented on our trips to Maui were sparse and worn in this unit. For example, there were only 2 beach worn towels, one extra blanket which we used the hideaway bed for our daughter along. with a couple of pretty flat & worn pillows, and toilet paper holder in the master bath felt like it was about to fall off so we didn’t even use it. The mattress was very firm and felt worn/older so it would have been nice to have something a little bit upgraded to fall into at the end of a busy day. Otherwise, the unit was very clean, comfortable and well-located. We would consider returning again to NKH but probably a different unit (“the pool was always warm, says my daughter!”) so that was nice on the cooler rainy days when the ocean was rough.
The condo was clean. Linens and towels well stocked. The condo was as described (except for the sofa bed – it was unusable) it just needed a bit of updating. The location was great. I love that you can walk to the beach without crossing Kihei Road. The shared lawn area and furniture/umbrellas was perfect!
I would definitely come back to another condo in this building, just not this particular condo.

Great place to stay, nice spot on right on the beach with bbq area and swimming pool.
We loved our stay! Perfect gem on sugar beach. The downstairs area is so peaceful, private and relaxing. We enjoyed every bit of the unit, location, and property as a whole. Walkable to so many great places and perfect middle spot on the island. We can’t wait to come back!
Ok property. Good location. Difficult to communicate with the property manager.
The property is great. Because we came in the evening the end of the month and the gate code had just changed we had to wait to get the code from the property manager the next day. An inconvenience. Dishes above the fridge all dirty/dusty. A little outdated and boring decor.
The grounds are immaculate and location on Sugar Beach is fabulous. The unit itself is a ways back on the property you can see the ocean from the lanai, but there is a bit of road noise. The unit would benefit from removing unnecessary items from closets. The cleaners could do a better job and pay more attention to details. The bed was very comfortable. Overall the unit is fairly represented in the description and would recommend it to other travellers for good value.

It was a great place to stay. Location was great near ABC mart and local restaurants. Also beach was private beach almost. Parking instructions was not clear but over all no problems with any. Highly recommend and I would go back again!

Not in the most ‘touristy’ parts of Maui. Centrally located and a great ‘home base’ for whatever you wanted to on the island. Actually had a great sandy beach access.

Great place to stay the only problem we had was the bed and pillows were not to comfortable and the curtains let a lot of sunlight in, in the morning. Other than that it’s a good place to stay while in Maui

Very windy, noisy highway, and little waves.
The place was great for us. Whole house was pretty clean. Hosts were responsive when I needed to talk to them and they accommodated us well when we needed something. Overall good experience. I would stay with them again.

My family has stayed at Nani every year they go to Maui and it’s always such an amazing time! From the beautiful beach and coastal views to the home like presence it’s definitely an easy choice!
It is obvious that someone cares a lot about the grounds and takes pride in keeping things clean. We thought there would be in-unit laundry, but there’s a laundry room with washer/dryer on each level. I felt the furnishings in this condo compared to other units we’ve rented on our trips to Maui were very worn. When we first arrived to the unit, it smelled horrible and we found dirt embedded into the area rug, couch, pillows and bedspread. When we notified the rental company, they promptly came out and carpet cleaned the items. After the condo was cleaned, it smelled better as well. The bed was very worn and felt lumpy, we slept on it sideways and it seemed to work fine for the time we were there. However, the unit would definitely benefit from a new mattress. Otherwise, the unit was comfortable and well-located. The furnishings were not as expected, a little dated, but clean and sturdy (with the exception of the lumpy bed). There was a shelf in the master shower that was broken. The toilet paper holder did not hold well, it is a bar that kept flipping downwards, so we didn’t use it. We were happy with the hospitality of the place in general. The kitchen was well stocked and the unit came with beach accessories. The TV in the bedroom did not work. There was wifi, however, it was not consistent with the connection. Overall, it is a good place to stay and we would consider returning again to a different unit.
Codes for pool were not clearly listed. code for gate to get to beach was not found at all but can be accessed from the stairs.
There was an alarm from somewhere outside going off two nights in a row.
The biggest issue was the lack of a privacy cover over the bedroom window. Not only did the outside light make the room too bright but offered no privacy from anyone outside in the parking lot or on nearby balconies. They obviously knew about it because when I brought it up, I was told the parts are on order. Yet it wasn’t mentioned or anything temporary done.
