I have stayed here three times, twice in the same unit. Sure, the unit/building is a little dated, but that doesn’t bother me at all. THE LOCATION IS PERFECT! And for the price, it can’t be beat in my book. If you’re looking for resort-style amenities, this is not the location for you. But if you’re looking for relaxation, close proximity to town, AMAZING views, and a quiet beach, this is the place! P.S. Go to the beach around 4pm and catch sight of sea turtles traveling to the adjacent cove!

This condo is comfortable, locating in a good location and offers a great sunset view from the balcony. It is an old and dated unit, but everything works.
Location was great, lanai overlooking the sunset was every night was beautiful. Lots of water toys available for use. Kitchen was equipped with all the basics.
Unit is dated, cleanliness of carpet in bedroom and unit was not the cleanest. Bring house slippers or you’ll have some dirty feet at the end of the night. AC unit in bedroom is run on a 3 hour timer which requires you to reset the timer in the middle of the night.
Management company was very easy to work with when any questions arose.
This place was breathtaking as soon as we walked in the door. The condo was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed. My favorite part was the incredible patio with unreal ocean front views. If we have a chance to go back to Maui I hope we can stay at this condo and specifically in this unit!
This was an okay, non-luxury, affordable option for staying right on the beach. The physical space is not as nice as the pictures portray. Carpets are stained, grout is dirty, and couch is ripped in several spots. The microwave is mounted so high above the stove that I (5’5”) could put things in and take them out, but couldn’t see those things. I guess you could look into the microwave if you stood on a chair or something. The building and location felt totally safe, but it seems like this is definitely a rental for rental’s sake, rather than a condo that anyone cares about. Which is fine for the price; you are getting what you pay for here. If you like places to be sparking clean, this is not the place for you. On the plus side, we had no problems accessing the unit, and it was very quiet (at least for our stay, which was crowded on the island overall). We never heard any traffic noise like you would farther south in Kihei and only a few times heard our direct neighbors coming and going. I’m not sure how common it is in Hawaii for units to put their window AC units on a 6-hour timer, but be aware you’ll have to get up in the night to reset the timers if you sleep with AC. It was great to have a king bed and we never had trouble finding parking. The beach is great for walking but was not (at least for our stay) a beach where people swam. That was nice for privacy, but if you’re looking for swimming out your door, it’s probably not this place. We had not stayed in Kihei before but really preferred it to the more touristy and crowded Kaanapali area. So we enjoyed our stay but I think next time for the same budget I’d look for something not on the beach that was a bit better maintained.

Great place worth of staying. Please note that f you’re planning to stay without swimming in the beach it’s perfect because you can’t swim on this beach it’s very mellow and dirty. Otherwise it’s perfect we love it

Check in was straightforward . Easy to find the building and unit. Mostly private beach view from the balcony . The inside of the condo needs an update . The windows do not close all the way and the AC can’t quite keep up. There’s also a 4 hr timer on the unit in the living room/kitchen. The room had curtains that did not block any light out. Sun out meant the whole room was bright . The kitchen had everything needed to make coffee and cook a meal. Balcony had a nice chair and table with a wonderful view of the beach. Overall good location and amenities. Just dated . Host was very responsive to questions .

Absolutely loved staying at Koa Lagoon, it was a close enough drive to get to everything you need, but also far enough away from the big crowds where you could go back and have privacy. Waking up to the view off of the balcony was my favorite part, it was absolutely breathtaking and if we are fortunate enough to return to Maui in the future, I almost guarantee we will be staying at Koa Lagoon if possible!

Great location, but this particular unit is not well kept. Large stains on couch and rugs. Ceiling fan installed upside down and doesnt look safe. AC poorly fitted to window. Tissue box had crumpled tissue shoved inside. Found sunglasses next to nightstand indicating it had not been cleaned. Oven backsplash is simply resting, not glued into place. Towels and linens were clean though. Easy check in. Private and peaceful. We stayed at another unit in the same complex directly afterwards and the difference was stark. Having a private beach is great, but this one is not so great for swimming. If we went to Maui again, we would go further south because this location is not walkable, except to the indian food next door. Overall disappointed for what we paid, but this unit could really shine if work was put into it.

The condo has a very beautiful view and is approximately 10 minutes from some amazing beaches in South Kihei. We didn’t go on the beach in front of the condo, but it looked pretty nice. The AC is a little weak, but it works. The faucet in the shower runs a little, but didn’t bother me. Some of the paint on the cabinets is chipping. The condo was clean and worth the price we paid.

We were especially impressed with the view. Many times one has to pay a higher premium for the view. The modest price here was nice.

You can’t beat waking up and falling asleep to the view and sound of the ocean. The overall grounds of KL are nice: safe and clean. 506 needs a great deal of TLC. Also could use a few more supplies in the kitchen. The biggest challenge is the microwave over the stove/oven. The bottom of the microwave is over my head: I am 5‘3“. I can barely reach it to use it. My mother cannot. But The condo is comfortable and safe.
Easy check-in. The location was perfect and the view amazing. Easy access to an uncrowded beach made morning walks enjoyable.As far as kitchen and bathroom supplies, we found everything we needed. The unit itself desperately needs updating. I opened a drawer and the front panel came off. There is a tear in the laminate going into the kitchen so make sure to wear footwear that doesn’t catch. Koa Lagoon is a quiet complex but I would probably consider a different unit.
That view!!! The view and proximity to the ocean is the best I’ve experienced in all my stays so far. This complex is on the ocean side of the road and a small, nicely landscaped yard is all that separates you sand and a long strip of quiet (while we were there) beach. Stepping out on the lanai every morning was simply breathtaking.The condo itself was lovely, comfy bed & couches, kitchen had all the things we needed. We called the office for a minor issue (with the TV) and was resolved quickly.To address a couple reviews I read before we went: yes, the A/C in the main area is sluggish, it doesn’t get “cold” (bedroom a/c does!) but we didn’t spend much time inside during the day, at night the breeze was sufficient to be comfy. And yes, the water heater is small, but the pressure is fantastic so my showers were quicker anyway. Condo was obviously cleaned, the four stars is only due to wear and tear.Pool was quiet, water felt great!Location in Kīhei was ideal, so much food and shopping right there. 100% would stay here again!
I loved the location and this VRBO has plenty of amenities. This unit is aged but it was a great stay. My only issue was with a parking pass. I noticed the tow away signs and that all other vehicles had parking passes in their window. I called the listing company but I was again told that I did not need a pass. I called the main line listed for the facility on the internet and a different realtor brought me a parking pass. I think this is an issue that needs to be addressed so future vacationers do not have this same issue. Otherwise, Kīhei was a great area to stay with much to offer. There are stores nearby to buy and prepare your own food and enjoy with a beautiful view! I was a woman traveling alone and I felt very safe at this location. I would stay here again.

Positive: The view is great. Sitting on the balcony watching the sunsets were the best part. The bed was comfy, the amenities in the apartment was everything you needed. I really appreciated the folded toilet paper little butterfly and the folded leave on the paper towel in the kitchen. Also Customer service was excellently and very quick to respond
Negative: The aircon units are very old and extremely noisy. The one in the bedroom are too loud to sleep with so we had the one in the living room area on at night otherwise it would be too hot. But that one only works with a timer of 4 hours, so if it stops and gets too hot you will wake up.
The tv remote did not work as instructed in the welcoming binder, only the smaller remote worked. You can’t hang washing to dry on the balcony railings, but they don’t provide you with anything to hang your things to dry. The ceiling fan in the bedroom can’t increase speed so effectively kind of useless. Also The beach and ocean in front of the location was not the best.
We loved the location, proximity to the beach and the ease of check in. The property is in need of some TLC. Kitchen is very dated and one cupboard has collapsed. Carpet in bedroom is badly stained. A/C blows directly on your head while sleeping and the unit in the dining room is pretty much useless. Wouldn’t take much to make this an awesome unit. Nothing 20 grand wouldn’t take care of.
The beach view was fantastic. The kitchen had most things that we needed to cook. There were some cosmetic and wear issues with parts of the condo. The sliding doors to the patio need to be cleaned , adjusted and lubricated. The toilet seat needs to be replaced. Closet doors in hallway and dining area need to be adjusted so they do not stick. Be sure and check the plumbing associated with th clothes washer. The one day we washed clothes, the neighbor below us said that they had water dripping from their ceiling.
Bifold closet doors are broken, no extra toilet paper, no cooler for food for pool or beach days, only enough dish soap for two sink loads, no dish towels for drying dishes, air conditioner in living room doesn’t cool the room and is on a four hour timer which is very annoying especially at night, screen door keeps coming off the track, patio door is difficult to open, stains on bedroom carpet, black mold on blender blades. With the exception on the floors in the living/dining area, everything is original dating back to the 1970’s. Some of the electrical outlets need replacing (fire hazard). The unit is in severe need of an upgrade. Sub par accommodations compared to other units friends and family stayed in in the same building. The only good thing about the unit is the view.
