My husband & I stayed here for a week in Oct 2025. We had an amazing time, yes the bathroom is a little tight but nothing we couldn’t handle. We did have ocean breezes with the doors open(we are used to ac) & it was managable. The balcony was great for our morning coffee & sunrises. We have enjoyed this place so much we already booked our 2nd stay for 2026

One of the most beautiful and serene places I have ever stayed in. Perfect if you want to be right on the ocean. The kitchen and bathroom is very well equipped and there’s extra fans. The host was super friendly and responsive, always tried their best to help.

The place was nice and right next to the water. You can hear the ocean very well at night.
Location is nice to explore the island because nothing is too far away if you want to go north or south.
We could walk to many restaurants and shops and it’s a short drive to many more.
Had a small hiccup upon arrival that was fixed very quickly so we appreciated the responsiveness.

We loved this condo. The moment we walked in, we were amazed at the view of the water. This place truly is oceanfront. The unit is bright and airy, with windows on two sides. Don’t be concerned about the lack of AC- you don’t need it here. It never gets too hot, the trade winds keep things nice and cool.
The complex is relatively small, with a nice private pool and coin laundry facilities. I loved the intimate nature of the setting. No loud bars or restaurants, and a beautiful little beach right in front. Walking distance to Coconut Marketplace. We really enjoyed having beach chairs at the rental too.
A few items that could use a bit of tightening up: the communication was a bit unclear. The directions were incorrect but thankfully we knew the area and could find the complex. We did not receive the pool code so had to ask and then wait for that. One of the wall outlets was missing a face plate which seemed unsafe (this is a fast, $10 fix).

Our stay at the Kapaa Sands was wonderful. We had an ocean front condo and had our patio looking out over the ocean. Such a serene setting, within walking distance to get a meal and a quick drive to lots of beautiful places to explore. We would highly recommend this place for anyone needing somewhere with beautiful views of the ocean!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in #9. The view and closeness to the ocean are incredible. The full kitchen was important to us as we were able to make breakfast and a few dinners. Why sit in a restaurant when we already have this view?!
The small cooler and ice packs allowed us to pick up poke and eat it wherever we landed. Beach chairs too!
Only small negative… bathroom is tiny. We managed just fine.

Our studio apartment in Kapa’a Sands more than exceeded our expectations-everything was as pictured &described, except pictures just couldn’t do it justice! The view is gorgeous & always front and center. The shoreline(right out the door & down the stairs) is so unique-an extended tide pool, flanked by huge driftwood logs & lush foliage. The apartment itself was very comfortable (ie,the bed); the kitchen fully equipped (lots of dishes). This small bungalow complex, with its pool &laundry room, has a lush tropical garden setting , is very quiet &private. Located within walking distance is a small shopping center, where we enjoyed eating & souvenir shopping; a short drive away are groceries &sundries. It’s also a great location for reaching Lihue &all the coastline attractions of the island. Chasing Rainbows was topnotch in communications: very responsive & considerate in all our messaging. Kapa’a Sands made our vacation; we would love to stay there again!

The location and view were exceptional. The decor was very nice.
This place is a gem! It was just what my husband and I needed, a beautiful space right on the water with privacy and a homey feeling. The amenities and items available were on point, even if we stayed briefly and didnʻt use them all, as a owner of rental properties myself, I know they went above and beyond. Everything was in good repair and easy to find/ use.

Really nice condo right on the beach. Had everything we needed and was centrally located to access the north and south sides of the island. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store a short drive away. Can’t say enough how my wife and I enjoyed our week. The beach behind the complex was nice as well. Not crowded and clean.
No A/C, but plenty of fans and kept the sliding door open all night. Very comfortable, never seemed hot. We used the community pool and gas grill as well. Highly recommend.
James and company were great guests to host. We had an emergency water shutdown and James was understanding and patient through this process. Mahalo James!

No one returned my call when I was trying to get the code for pool and laundry room. A set of written instructions and information would have been nice, including instructions on leaving the parking tag. It’s $25. if one does not leave it in the room.
I suggest putting the note on both front and back of the parking tag. We didn’t see it until we got back to the rental car business.

Really enjoyed our stay at the condo. You can’t beat the view and how close you are to the ocean. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well listening to the waves at night. The location is great, easy access to both sides of the island with plenty of stores and restaurants close by. Be sure to try the bakery right across from the condo. The beach in front of the condo is not easy to access and disappears at high tide. The condo has everything you need for your stay. A great place to stay that is quiet and convenient for visiting Kauai.

Beautiful place in a beautiful location! For a studio, the unit was very spacious. The kitchen was well stocked, and there were enough toiletries in the bathroom for a few days to give us time to settle in before needing to go to the store. The view of the water was stunning, and there were so many restaurants within walking distance. We’d definitely stay there again!

Wir kamen nachmittags an und waren direkt beeindruckt und begeistert von der Unterkunft. Bei dem Resort handelt es sich um eine Ferien Anlage mit mehreren kleinen Häusern die jeweils 4 Parteien haben. Die Anlage ist wunderschön angelegt mit einem Gemeinschaftspool und Grills in der Mitte. Dieser ist top gepflegt. Die Anlage ist insgesamt auf einem super Niveau. Man parkt direkt vor den Unterkünften und hat eine sehr bequeme laufweite.
Unsere Unterkunft hatte eine perfekt ausgestattete Küche. Der Platz war ausreichend und wir hatten einen wunderbaren Blick in 1. Reihe auf das Meer. Wir würden diese Unterkunft jederzeit einem Hotel vorziehen. Es war sehr privat und vergleichsweise günstig.

We had a wonderful stay at Kapaa Sands Resort. The biggest highlight is the fantastic oceanfront location and the breathtaking views from the balcony. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves made our stay truly special. The property is surrounded by beautiful tropical landscaping that creates a true Hawaiian atmosphere.
The apartment is very well equipped, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a good kitchen, reliable Wi-Fi, a modern TV, and convenient parking just steps away. Restaurants, coffee shops, and stores are within walking distance, and most of Kauai’s attractions can be reached within 40–50 minutes by car.
Swimming directly in front of the resort is limited, but a very nice beach with a protected swimming area is only a few minutes away.
The only significant drawback was maintenance follow-through. We reported issues with the shower drain and toilet flush mechanism, but they were not resolved during our stay.

We loved the unobstructed view of the gorgeous beach! We really enjoyed sitting outside on our lanai to eat meals and just relax. The beach was easy to access and had lots of interesting tide pools. The neighborhood was peaceful and friendly. The kitchen and bathroom were plenty clean but the walls could have used a deep clean. The unit is older and the plumbers had to come by twice to work on a slow draining shower. Despite the condo being a bit older we loved the view and location so much that we would come again.

Soggiorno perfetto, difficile trovare un difetto: vista meravigliosa sull’oceano, alloggio posizionato in un contesto silenzioso, curato, e dotato di ogni confort, funzionale, piccolo ma gestibilissimo per due persone.
La piscina è un ulteriore plus, assolutamente valido se non amate il vento sulla spiaggia.
I dintorni sono ricchi di locali, spiagge meravigliose, negozi tipici.

Die Unterkunft ist perfekt für einen Aufenthalt auf der Insel Kauai. Ein super Ausgangsort für Unternehmungen auf der Insel und trozdem rugig gelegen um den Touristen zu entfliehen. Die Lage direkt am Stand war traumhaft schön.
Overall the place was nice. I gave three stars because when we got there the shower was clogged and they didn’t inform us before our arrival. I didn’t find out until the next day that they knew about it and I had to call several times.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kapaa Sands Unit 9. The view from the balcony was absolutely incredible—so serene and peaceful that we spent every evening relaxing and taking it all in.
The condo was sparkling clean, with a well-stocked kitchen and a very comfortable bed. During our stay, a repair was made in the unit, and staff communicated with us in advance about the appointment, making the process seamless. The property’s laundry room was also being remodeled while we were there, and we appreciated that Chase ‘N Rainbows notified us ahead of time and provided recommendations for nearby laundromats.
The condo grounds are beautifully landscaped and exceptionally well maintained. The location is another highlight, within walking distance to shopping and dining at the Coconut Marketplace. Kapaa Sands is located close to Lihue, and no more than an hour’s drive to the far ends of the island. We will definitely return to Kapaa Sands during future visits!

Studio exceptionnel avec une vue magnifique sur l’océan et les montagnes depuis le logement et le balcon. L’accès à la plage depuis la résidence est un vrai plus, à seulement 5 minutes à pied.
Le studio est parfaitement équipé (cuisine avec four, lave-vaisselle, tout le nécessaire), et la résidence offre une belle piscine entourée de verdure, des barbecues et une laverie payante.

L’alloggio è in una posizione splendida, molto pulito e con cucina attrezzatissima, a due passi da varie attività commerciali. Abbiamo molto apprezzato il rumore del mare come sottofondo. Consigliato se volete stare in zona comoda per l’aeroporto e piuttosto centrale rispetto al resto dell’isola.
